For decades, members of New York City’s vibrant African community have contributed to the rich culture and commerce of our city. Join us as we celebrate our annual NYC African Heritage Month and honor NYC’s African leaders for the ways in which they have enhanced the lives of all New Yorkers across the five boroughs.

Hosted by The African Heritage Month Celebration Committee, The New York City Commission on Human Rights, the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, the Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit, New York City Health and Hospitals, the Mayor’s Office of Faith and Community Partnerships, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, The Africa Center, DSI International, and African Communities Together, our celebration will include:

— A special ceremony honoring the achievements of African leaders who have made contributions throughout New York City.

— Access to a Resource Fair for community members to learn about their human rights and other City resources.

— Free immigration legal consultation for a later date.

— Covid-19 vaccines and free Covid-19 tests.

— Fun art activities for kids and the entire family.

— Musical and cultural performances.

— Distribution of backpacks and school supplies.

— … and much more!

Please note that social distancing rules will be enforced, and participants should wear masks.

We look forward to having you join us!
