Now celebrating its 41st year, the annual Museum Mile Festival takes place rain or shine on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, from 6 to 9 pm. The Africa Center is Museum Mile’s newest cultural institution, and is participating in the event for the very first time!

Join us for Museum Mile Festival at The Africa Center to experience:

# Live music and art-making workshops and activities on the plaza adjacent to the Center at 110th and 5th Avenue

# All Power to All Peopleby Hank Willis Thomas, a larger than life outdoor steel sculpture celebrating cultural identities in the African diaspora, in partnership with Kindred Arts Cultural Equity Initiative

# I had a dream, an exhibition produced in partnership with Moleskine Foundation. The exhibit features 100 hand decorated notebooks made by young creatives who attended workshops in Rome, N’Djamena, Kampala and Harare

# African Food! Our food partner Teranga will be open for extended hours until 9PM

Once you’ve visited us, walk the length of Museum Mile on Fifth Avenue between 110th and 82nd Street while visiting some of New York City’s finest cultural institutions, which are free to the public throughout the evening.
